   I am using the Zune software (it's horrible! I can't figure anything out) for my music and to be synced to my zune. Here's what I've been doing:

   I have two computers. One has about of iTunes music on it. The other is a new laptop. I also have a Zune. Zune Marketplace is on my laptop (I like it there). I took a ton of CD-RWs and burned my whole iTunes library onto them, then ripped them into the Zune software. It didn't find all the song information, like it should. I just calls them "Track 1", "Track 2" and so on. I clicked "Options" then "find all song info", and it said it was loading. It took about 4 seconds, then stopped. It said it was done. Believe it or not, it didn't work! Sitting there staring at me was about 140 tracks, named "Track 1" all the way to "Track 140". That isn't what I want.

   Anyway, please help me. That completely ruins my music experiance.

     Try uninstalling with unZoone then reinstalling. You didn't say if this is an update for you or if you are installing as a new Zune user. If you are new to Zune then double check to make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements for Zune.

4. QUESTION:
   I'm considering buying a zune mp3 player, but one of the features that is listed I'm not sure what it is?

   Is limewire efficient with zune?

     Limewire isnt directly compatible, per say, with the zune, but that doesnt quite matter as long as you have the mp3 and shoot it over to the zune software (provided you use it).

     What the feature is, basically, is when you have two zunes together in a room, they see eachother and you can send files back and forth via wireless connection. fairly self explanatory. however, after three listens or views of the files transferred, it deletes itself off of your zune due to copyright issues and microsoft kissing up to the record companies.

5. QUESTION:
   Why does Zune separate my mixed albums by artist?
   I have albums that I personally mixed on my PC, but when I put them on my Zune the Zune won't keep them on one album. Even when I go into Zune and give them the same artist names, it's still pulling their names off the internet. How can I get my mixed albums to stay as one album (other than making a playlist). Thanks!

     It does that because you mixed them. If they were from a cd you bought from the store it wouldn't give you this problem.

     Try this it works 99% of the time.
     Go to My Documents>My Music>Zune. Create a folder for that album. Drag the music to that folder and delete the other folders Zune is putting it in. Then try editing the info in Zune program. This works for me when I'm importing music from cds that I've burned for individual artists..

     Creating a play list for them will be a lot easier.

6. QUESTION:
   How can I get my zune to appear in Windows Explorer?
   I have Windows Vista and just bought a Zune. My zune appears in the Zune software but not in Windows Explorer. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

     You can hit 'sync' or go to collections and music and drag the music down the screen to the little zune at the bottom left of the screen.

     Zunes are great. Zune software sucks big time. Hard to use. The updates just made bigger confusion.

     You can wirelessly sync your computer to your Zune. You cannot sync your Blackberry with your Zune.

      Almost all of the pay sites you mentioned are p2p portals The only one I couldn't find the legal disclaimer on was Zune Video Pro.

      Make sure you have the Zune PC software, and you know where your torrents are located on your computer, Torrents are usually in Xvid file so you would need to convert those videos into either MP4 format, H.264 format, or WMV format, before you can play them on Zune.

      1-Open the Zune Software

      Jonathan don't listen to Ɲyla the person does not know what they are talking about and that site, it's an Apple fan site and most go on and talk sh*t on Microsoft.

      But i am not sure when, but does one person really need thousands of apps and most only use like 20 or so.
      I don't have a Zune HD and used an iPod once and hated it.
      But Zune is not dead, or else Microsoft wouldn't keep up their Zune stuff or Xbox 360 or WP7. think Ɲyla.

    How to manually transfer songs to a Zune?
    My girlfriend has a 8GB Zune and somehow it is set to sync itself with what music is on her laptop. So whenever she plugs it into her laptop, it erases the songs on her Zune and Zune program on her laptop, and only keeps what songs are on Widows Media Library.

    How does she change the settings to stop this?

      Open the Zune software and click "Settings" at the top. Then go to Device > Sync Options and choose either "Items I choose" or "Manual" so it won't remove any songs from the Zune.

      other than that they are the same. if those features dont interest you, get the original Zune....it is still a great device. i had the 120GB zune and it was awesome...i now have the 16GB zune HD and couldn't be happier.

      I have a Zune, and really like it.

      You go to the Zune marketplace to get the music for your player (leastwise music that you don't already own). It is competitive with other sites.

      I like the monthly subscription service (zune Pass) that Zune offers (and iTunes doesn't) - it allows me to rent/sample music. Some people like to rent their music, and some don't. I am in the former category.

      Microsoft still doesn't have the same video deals that iTunes so you won't find videos available at the Zune marketplace. There are some download sites advertising Zune compatibility. But I haven't tried them. Zune Reactor is one of them.

      There is software that allows you to makes copies of personally owned DVDs that fit the Zune format - this is legal if you use it for personal use only.

    I rebooted my computer and lost all my music files, but they're still on my Zune. I was wondering if there was some way to get them from the Zune to my Zune software without it deleting them all.

      I rebooted my computer numerous times, each time I was able to put Zune songs back onto my Zune software. Here is what I do:

      1. Install the Zune software if you have not already done so.
      2. Plug in your Zune to the Computer via. Usb cable.
      3. A message may show up if you have plugged in the Zune for the first time since you have reboot your Zune. Make sure that you say that this will be your "new home" (Zune recognizes your rebooted computer as a "different" computer.
      4. After you Zune is recognized, go to devices on top of the menu screen.
      5. Go to "music"
      6. select all you music by screening down all you songs from beginning to end (what? is that called again when you click)
      7. Right click and select "Copy to my collection"
      8. Afterward, it will copy the songs to the Zune software and to the computer. Just go ahead and do something else while it syncs the songs back to the Zune software.

    How do i install software onto my zune if it didnt come with a disk?
    I just bought a 120 GB zune, ive downloaded the zune software from the website onto my computer, i have a trial zune pass. but i plugged in my zune, and t said to "put in the disk that came with your zune to install zune software". its already installed onto the computer from the website, and it didnt come with a disk of any kind. what do i do?

      This isn't an answer, but my computer did the exact same thing. On another computer, after downloading the software, it installed itself (that was XP), but on Vista, it is doing exactly what you describe.

      There is of course no disk for Zune.

      Are you using FireFox? Try Internet Explorer!

    How do I get my pictures from my zune software to my new computer?
    I got a new computer so I loaded the pics from my zune to the zune software. Now I want to get the pics from the software to the computer. How do I?

      Since you transferred them to the collection they are already on your computer. To find out where on the computer they are open your Zune program and click on pictures. Find the album and click on it. Click again to open the album. Right click on one of the pictures and go to properties. It will tell you where on your computer the pictures are now saved. If you want to move them then you can copy them and paste them to whatever folder you want. Just make sure you add the folder you are moving them to to the monitored folders lists. Otherwise when you delete them from that other folder they will disappear from your collection. When you add them to a new monitored folder and sync your Zune those pictures will get resynced again.

      You probably need to convert it to the correct format. Download a converter program. The program will only add files that are in the acceptable format.

      These are the acceptable formats:
      The Zune software will automatically search for appropriate video files, and then add the following video file types to your library:
      •Windows Media Video files (.wmv)
      •MPEG-4 Video files (.m4v)
      •Some QuickTime video files (.mov)

    I have downloaded tons of songs off of itunes and i am planing on getting a zune. I know zune can only use mircosoft marketplace or something like that. and i also have a macbook, so will there be any trouble with getting a zune?

      Zunes don't work with Mac OSX.

      EDIT: You CAN get a Zune, but only if:
      1. You use Boot Camp or Parallels to install Windows on your MacBook. (But why would you want to?)
      2. The iTunes purchased music you have is all iTunes Plus.

      I wouldn't recommend it. Just stick with the iPod.

      What it does: You can play videos, listen to music, and online radio. Basically everything WINamp can do.
      Doesn't recognize mac formats (i.e. .mov)

      Pros: Don't really think there are any pros or cons, essentially a basic player, not as complex as iTunes, Media Center or even Zune.
      Kind of the standard.

      Zune -
      What it does: You can play videos, listen to music, download podcast,TV shows, and music - with Microsoft points or the Zune pass.

      Pros:
      - Easy to use software
      - Ability to allow users to order a subscription for unlimited music downloads + 10 free songs a month for the price of 15 dollars (same amount of money to buy a CD now-a-days)
      - Video Marketplace has a wide variety of TV shows.
      - Can connect to XBox 360 wireless-ly

      Cons:
      - You can't use this software to connect to any other Mp3 player.
      - Subscription only doesn't allow download of full market place, some songs you may still have to buy.
      - Videos not included with Subscription service.
      - Doesn't recognize some Mac formats (i.e. .Mov)

      Media Center:
      Not necessarily the best media option in my opinion, unless you need a DVR. If you don't want the Zune as your media option go WMP, anyways here are the pros + cons

      Pros:
      - Very User Friendly
      - When connected to your TV can double as a DVR
      - Can connect to XBox 360 wireless-ly

      Cons:
      - Slows down computer at times
      - Not compatible certain formats (i.e. .Mov)
      - Cannot transfer music to + from ANY Mp3

      I don't think there is a way to copy the Zune playlists. As for syncing the other stuff, I don't see any other way to sync back to the computer then manual. The good thing is you can highlight all the videos, music etc. You should be able to then right click and select copy to collection. As far as I know, that works.

      all zunes use the same USB cable, MS did this so you can use any zune with any zune accessory...this only applies to original MS Zune accessories so like the altec lansing dock, or the kicker dock may not work, but everything else should work just fine.

    I heard that you have to buy the music for a Zune on this zune downloading song website thing and not from Limewire. Is that true? Can you use limewire to download songs?

      limewire and any other MP3 download site will work just fine on the zune HD....not need to buy from the marketplace....but the marketplace does guarantee you a virus free file that wont corrupt your computer and zune like a limewire file may do.

    I had a 4gb zune, and it broke, under the standard warranty, it said that i would get the special prices for a new Zune:

    I have a question about my Zune and Zune Software?
    I have all my songs and videos on my Zune. But I had to change my hard drive, so I don't have the songs on my computer anymore. So I cant add them to my library. Can I copy the songs and videos in my Zune to my hard drive? Because I'm afraid if I connect to my PC and open the software, it will automatically update (in this case delete) the songs. Would this happen or can I copy the songs to my computer?

      I'm not real familiar with Zunes, but my brother does have one. (I own a Zen Vision: M, which I love dearly.)

      But, it *should* ask/tell you if it's going to delete everything on your Zune. Just tell it not to delete anything. If you want to be on the super-safe side, just uninstall the software, and then plug in your Zune. Windows *should* recognized it at least as a removable drive, and then you could copy/paste all your stuff onto your new hard drive.

    when the zune pass expires does it completly take the songs off the zune device?
    or does it just take it off the collecton? Will it let you play the songs on your zune if the zune pass expires?

      When the zune pass expires all of the songs you downloaded won't work. They just won't play untill you resubscribe to the zune pass. So if you are not going to resubscribe, then you have delete all of the songs and podcasts.

    How do i move my videos from limewire to zune?
    I have downloaded some videos from my limewire and i have saved in a million different places, and not one of them will work when i try to upload them on zune.

    With my zune program i click on settings and i add a new folder in the videos section, and after i do that - nothing happens

      I use Zune HD as well as an iPhone.
      I find the Zune software way more better due to its content layout, although like you I have to sync my Music to my iPhone, sadly your Album artwork will not load on your iTunes from your Zune although you just need to select your music folder from your iTunes software are the rest is a long automatic process.

My zune has all my songs on it and I want to get them into my collection on my computer...when I plug in my zune it doesnt say its not connected so what do I do?

      So the Zune is connected?

      If it is,
      I am not sure if it works with other zunes, or just the Zune HD, since that's what I have.

      It's worth a try though so try it:

      Just go to the device summary and then click on the "music" tab on top.

      After this, just select the items you want by clicking on one item then holding CTRL and selecting others.

      Then, right-click and select "Copy to my collection"

      And it will start copying, if you want to check how the copying is going just go to the device summary and it will show your current sync status.

44. QUESTION:
    How do I input the songs already on my zune into my zune library?
    I recently installed the Zune software on my new computer, but can't figure out how to put the music I already have on my Zune into the library. In other words, I want my Zune library to have all the new songs I put into it as well as the songs already on my player. Help?

      click your device when its plugged in, the little button in the bottom left.
      then highlight whatever artists/music you want to add and drag it to the computer icon and it will sync to the PC.

    Is the Sansa Fuze compatible with Zune?
    I'm planning on getting the Sandisk Sansa Fuze. I already know that iTunes isn't compatible with anything but the iPod, so I'm wondering if Zune is compatble? Zune as in the media player, not the portable MP3 player.
    If not, what media players ARE compatible the Sansa Fuze? (Except for Windows Media Player)
    Zune is both a portable MP3 player and a free music player software for your computer. In this case I am talking about the free software for the computer.

      Sansa Fuze - a mp3/mp4 player by Sandisk.

      itunes- manger file software
      windows media player- manger file software
      (they both can play music and video on your computer)

    Can I Keep Music on my zune from zune pass then cancel and never sync zune?
    Ok so i downloaded songs with zune pass and sync them into my zune now if i cancel my pass and never connect my zune to my pc but charge it on a 360 or something will i still keep my music??

      No, I tried that, once you cancel your pass it will not play anymore, anywhere. Your songs will still be there, but you just can't listen to them anymore.

      It does have a TON of music, at least to me it does, and of course, they're mainly mainstream popular music.

      Though the Zune is still a new guy to the market, so eventually more music will come into it.

      MOST songs are downloadable. There were only a couple for me that I couldn't download. I tried out the 14-day trial of ZMP, and I liked it. There were a few songs, but not that many. Most songs worked for me.

      You do have to remember, this is a music RENTAL system. That means you pay a monthly fee, to keep on using the music you download. You can't just download them, and keep it forever without paying monthly fees. It's more cheaper than buying songs individually though.

      Oh, and even if you don't sync your Zune to the computer after the current ZunePass expires, they won't work anyways.

    How can I import songs I purchased from Zune Marketplace into itunes?
    I had a Zune and purchased a few albums off Zune marketplace. My Zune died (R.I.P.) and now I have an ipod. When I try to import the albums I purchased from Zune it says they are protected. Any advice?

      well, they are protected by DRM. this usually means that they wont be able to be used by anything other than a Zune and in the Zune marketplace. your best bet is to find software that rips the DRM from the Music file. the music may also be in WMA format wich ipods dont support so it wouldnt work on you ipod anyway. should have stuck with another Zune
